Aeration

aer . ate v.
1. to expose to fresh air.
2. to oxygenate.

Aerifying is a process of disturbing the soil in a controlled fashion in order to relieve compaction and allow air, water, and nutrients to penetrate into the soil.

Compaction is detrimental to turfgrass growth because the compacted soil becomes a physical barrier to root penetration and it cuts off the oxygen supply to the root systems

Dixie Outdoor Products, Inc. aeration programs restores the soil's capacity as the ideal growing medium for turf plants, thereby giving you the potential for a greener, healthier, and safer playing surface.
